A very anglophilian sort of town at 1,868 meters above sea level in the heart of the Central Province. Home to one of the oldest and highest British built post offices in Sri Lanka with its made in Derby letterbox. Along with a golf course, a studdery, a race course, a botanical garden, a Victoria Park, a plenitutde of tea and of course, the constant threat of rain. The billboards around town advertising property in ‘Little England’ really aren’t too far off the mark.
